What is this book about?

Parker finds a hand puppet in the junk yard.  His friend tells him to leave it behind, but he ignores her warning.  Once he puts it on his hand, he can't take it off!  What is going on?  Who is this Drog?  Why can't Parker take Drog off his hand?
