Katie Rice is a Campaign Development Manager with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. That sounds like a BIG title, but Katie says, it really means that every day, she helps people. Katie always knew her passion was helping others and finding a cure for cancer, so after graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in Public Administration, she began working in the non-profit industry and now works with the LLS Hero Squad to help kids raise money for research and cures for cancer. In her free time, Katie loves spending time with her husband, 8-month-old son, dog, and cat, and traveling the world when it’s safe to do so. She has been to 17 countries, and 28 US States! |

CPT Bonny Bradway is from Quinton, New Jersey. She has always loved the outdoors, playing sports, and traveling, so she says "joining the Army was a natural choice!"
She went to college in New York (US Military Academy at West Point) where she studied to be an Environmental Engineer. After graduating, she became a 2LT in the Army Engineer Branch. As an Army Engineer, she has been stationed in Missouri, Kentucky, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Army Engineers do everything from building things to destroying things! They work with equipment like bulldozers and dump trucks, and they also use explosives to get the job done!
CPT Bradway's current job is as a Company Commander of A Co, 65th BEB on Schofield Barracks. Her days are filled with going to training, counseling Soldiers, and planning for future training and deployments.
Her favorite things besides work are her dog (Nana), cooking, hiking, scuba diving, and visiting national parks.

Bei Biggs was born in China and grew up there. She was an immigrant to the United States. That means she moved here from another country. Start thinking about questions you want to ask her! I wonder how her childhood was the same or different as her daughter's. (Her daughter goes to our school!) The kindergartners in Mrs. Shipper's class wonder what are her traditions? What did she eat when she was growing up? What did she celebrate? Mrs. Biggs will show us how to write Chinese characters and talk about how the teapot and panda are important in Chinese culture. |
Do you know what the characters below mean?

Tess will be the "Artist in Residence" in the makerspace on Wednesday, February 24. She'll teach kids her "Ghost in the Goo" art process with Native Hawaiian Animal pictures. | Did you know art and science are friends? Art is a way to capture science and the world around us, but I wonder what that means: art and science are friends? We'll find out when Tess Cramer joins us on our "What's New?" Wednesday Webex. Tess grew up in Mililani and graduated from Utah State University with her bachelor's degree in Art, along with minors in Art History and Chemistry. Her mom is a teacher at our school! Tess will be returning to Washington D.C. to repair art at the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Museum Conservation Institute. We're so lucky she can join us before she heads off on these adventures! Be sure to check out her "MEOWRALS and POOCHTRAITS" on Instagram! |

You have heard of karate. You have maybe even heard of judo or ti kwon do. But have you heard of Ki Aikido? Ki Aikido is a peaceful martial art. It teaches us to understand and strengthen the mind body connection so that we can be in harmony with ourselves and the world around us. Calm and action are one. Even when stressful things happen around us, we can keep a calm mind. This helps us perform to the best of our You know Omori Sensei! You see him on campus and in the cafeteria working hard to keep our school community beautiful! You also know him because he is Ms. Omori's dad! Tune in to learn more about Omori Sensei and Ki Aikido. Watch a breathing video here. |
